The Novaya Opera of Moscow, accompanied by the RTE National Symphony Orchestra, proudly present La Traviata. One of Verdi’s great masterpieces and a cornerstone of the operatic repertoire, La Traviata arrives at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre November 2020.
This production, with spectacular settings by the renowned Italian designer Guiliano Spinelli, was the star of the recent Festival Pucciniano in Torre del Largo. The Festival was founded in 1930 and over the years has become an increasingly prestigious event which attracts tens of thousands of people from all over the world.
Joining the famous soloists and chorus of The Novaya Opera of Moscow is Irish favourite Claudia Boyle who will perform the starring role of Violetta at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre on Wednesday 25th, Friday 27th and Sunday 29th November 2020. Violetta is a role she recently very successfully performed in London with the English National Opera.
One of the most popular and best loved operas of all time, La Traviata will be performed at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre for 5 performances only from 25 November until 29 November 2020. The most performed opera in the world with many well-known arias and choruses, Verdi’s sublimemusic will be performed live by the by the sensational RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra. La Traviata ( ‘The Fallen Woman’) takes place in Paris around 1850 and is the tragic story of a well-known beauty and courtesan, Violetta. After a full life of parties and many lovers, she eventually finds true love. Unfortunately by this time she has contracted consumption (TB) and is slowly becoming weaker and more ill. Her new love, Alfredo, is devoted to her and they enjoy a blissful life together for a short while until encountering many obstacles to their relationship and she eventually dies of her illness.
Accompanied by the magnificent RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, The Novaya Opera of Moscow‘s performances of La Traviata in the luxurious surroundings of the Bord Gais Energy Theatre in November 2020 is not to be missed. Audiences can expect a wonderful evening of opera and a truly inspiring experience.
